Too many satisfying resolutions for one GoT episode. We’re gonna pay for that somehow.

It was refreshing, wasn’t it? Now, who’s going to die next week? Because you know GoT can’t dole out this much justice without someone getting the short end of the stick the following week.

Bloody well done. But I still wonder why the fuck Sansa held up so long on her trump card without telling Jon. Coulda saved a ton of her men; dumb tactical move

Would have made for a boring battle to watch. Also, I think she may have wanted to teach Jon a lesson?

You gotta admit, it feels a little weird, doesn’t it? I was convinced that Ramsay would meet an end somewhat like Joffrey’s. Maybe not poison, but some kind of fate that wouldn’t do the character justice.

I mean, Joffrey died too soon. I wanted him to suffer more, and not only physically. I wanted him to learn of his true lineage. Sure, he would deny it, but I wanted to see him realize the truth of it and totally flip out. But he was gone too quickly. And by the way that play in Braavos was going, it seems that almost everyone still thinks of him as a Baratheon.

While you are right, that was at least true to the book.

Ramsey died the way a TV character dies. I guess, the fat old man would have had other plans with him, I guess. (I know that he is advising them on the plotline, but it seems more like a TV show now, less books turned into moving pictures.)

Oh god, I sound like a nerd, or worse, a hipster.....

Before each new episode, I brace myself with the words “If you think this has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention”. It’s probably the most “meta” quote from the entire show. (Does the quote come from the books? I haven’t read them...)

But realistic storytelling is different from realistic character choices. None of the characters seem to do anything too out-of-character. Ramsay’s end might seem obvious to viewers like us, but it’s 100% in line with what Sansa would have gone for in real life. She may not really be a cruel person, but this is the one time she would make an exception. It’s not about viewer satisfaction so much as it is about Sansa’s satisfaction. She finally got an opportunity to exercise control over something that had been controlling her. It’s been a long time coming, in more ways than one.

also, by waiting untill the last minute, she trapped Ramsay’s men and took them by surprise.

Jon would have still screwed it up. They would have still been trapped by the shield dudes, and then no one could have saved them. Jon refused to listen to Sansa about how Ramsay would outwit him to matter what, so she had to keep it a secret.

She also was trying to get Jon to wait to attack. She very well could have not known how close they were, so had no idea they would show up to help like that.

Didn’t little finger say he owed one to Sansa? Wouldn’t they be even now?

Normally I would agree with you, and trust me I thought about what you’re saying. The Knights from the Vale(qty: 35,000) outnumbered the 6,000 Bolton men by almost 6x.

The Boltons would have never been able to strategize against that. Sansa let her forces be massacred for the sake of an 11th hour counter attack, and for what? “Dumbshit Sansa” (my girlfriend’s quote) knew how many men the Boltons had, and she knew how many men she had with and without her family’s army. I’m no army general but basic logic dictates that 35,000 mounted-on-horses men would easily dispatch of the Boltons with minimal losses on her and Jon’s ranks

the cost of that lesson would be however many men died needlessly.

Yeah, what a great lesson she taught Jon

You might be right. But even still I would imagine she would wait as long as possible hoping to avoid him after he put her through all that crap. And it wouldn’t surprise me if littlefinger still turns it around and tries to get some power from the Starks later.

This.

I’ve been waiting for Jon Snow to stop being a bit of a pansy for ages and he finally did it. Beating down Ramsey even without a sword was perfect.

Does leave me thinking what do they have left for the finale? They’ve got an (IMO) weak storyline involving the High Sparrow and Circe, a possible fight with the Greyjoys/Daenerys, maybe something with Samwell and something with Bran but I think they’ll leave that til next season and Arya.

Makes me think that it'll be 'boring Circe, boring High Sparrow, boring Circe, boring High Sparrow BAM WHITE WALKERS ARE HERE'

Yep, tying up loose ends and then the white walkers. Not much else left.
